Hotel Cala Sant Vicenc
Calle Maressers 2

The Hotel Cala Sant Vicenc is an upscale boutique property set in an impressive Mediterranean-style mansion in the small and sedate resort of the same name. The vibe is homey, welcoming, and adult-oriented; though children are allowed there's little in the way of kid-friendly facilities. A restaurant serves quality Mediterranean-Mallorquin food as well as an excellent breakfast (included in the rate). A swimming pool has plentiful loungers set around a peaceful garden and poolside terrace where lunch is served. Like most of the interiors, the 38 rooms are traditionally styled, and come with welcome bottles of wine and super-fast Wi-Fi, however sea views are minimal. Those looking for a fully adult-only experience plus great sea vistas will prefer the SENTIDO Don Pedro a couple blocks away.

Hoposa Niu Hotel
Calle Cala Barques 5

The Hoposa Niu Hotel is a three-and-a-half-pearl boutique property that overlooks one of Cala San Vincent's two beaches. While dating back almost a century, renovations in 2015 have kept the place looking more than presentable, without losing its traditional charm. Eight of the 24 guest rooms open to balconies with sea views, spoiled slightly by another larger hotel opposite. A rooftop terrace provides panoramic vistas, a plunge pool, and some loungers, and the hotel also scores high for food quality and its welcoming atmosphere. For uninterrupted sea views, travelers can consider the all-inclusive Sentido Don Juan. Alternatively, the Hotel Cala Sant Vicenc has a larger pool though without the sea vistas.

Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel
Plaza Europa, 50-52

Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel is a contemporary four-pearl hotel situated next to Europa/Fira train station and a short walk or drive from the Fira Barcelona Gran Via convention center. The hotel features a central atrium-style vertical garden soaring to the top of the 27-story structure, and also offers an excellent array of amenities, including indoor and seasonal rooftop pools, an indoor hot tub, fitness center with views, and a Mediterranean restaurant with outdoor dining. The 357, clean, spacious, and contemporary guest rooms have a minimalist look and are done in all white or all black. All come with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi. The nearby Hotel SB Plaza Europa is slightly cheaper, but it's not as close to the convention center and doesn't have an indoor pool.

Hotel Porta Fira
Plaza Europa, 45

Situated right across the road from one of the continent’s largest trade and convention centers, this upscale 28-story hotel’s bright red color and unique round shape make an immediate impression. The iconic building (designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Toyo Ito) was completed in 2010, and the 311 designer rooms inside don’t disappoint. Slickly done in red, black, and white, all feature pillow menus, adjustable air-conditioning, plasma TVs, and free Wi-Fi. There’s a restaurant, bar and fitness center on-site. A metro station linking you to central Barcelona is just minutes away, but there’s no escaping the fact that the city sites aren’t on your doorstep. If you’re looking for a centrally located four-pearl alternative that offers a classic Catalan experience, consider Hotel 1898 instead.

Hotel SB Plaza Europa
Carrer de les Ciencies 11-13

Hotel SB Plaza Europa is a boutique three-and-a-half-pearl hotel located about a five-minute walk from the train station and about a five-minute drive from the Fira Barcelona Gran Via convention center. The colorful public spaces here are a highlight, as is the huge library of books. The wide array of property features also includes a seasonal rooftop pool with poolside bar, a fitness center, sauna, steam room, and Mediterranean restaurant. The 243 contemporary rooms are nicely decorated and some are a bit small, but they're clean and in good condition. All units come with minibars, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs. Travelers who want a slightly more upscale hotel closer to the convention center might consider the nearby Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel

Euro Hotel Gran Via Fira
Ciencias 98 - 100 Esq Miguel Hernandez
Hotel Fira Congress
C. de Jose Agustin Goytisolo, 9-11
Cas Comte Suites & Spa - Adults Only
Diseminado Ayamans 11, Plaza Espana

The Cas Comte Petit Hotel is an upscale, adults-only property housed in a superbly restored 18th-century manor house in the small and mostly quiet town of Lloseta. While there's little within walking distance—aside from some excellent dining—it's halfway between Palma and the northeastern beach resorts, making it a great base for exploring the island. Like the hotel as a whole, the 14 guest rooms and suites combine original features with high-end amenities, and even free bottles of Cava. Entry to the swish spa and an excellent buffet breakfast are also included, and a small rooftop infinity pool is another highlight. For a more rustic experience, the Petit Hotel Son Arnau a short drive away is surrounded by countryside with some spectacular views, but it doesn't have a spa.

Sa Vinya des Convent
Carretera Vella Sineu s/n, Entrada ANTONY´S parking

Sa Vinya des Convent is a three-and-a-half-pearl, farm-style property housed in a handsome traditional building set amongst vineyards and pretty gardens. Situated on the outskirts of one of the less-scenic towns, Inca, the location is only really good for shopping and as a base for exploring the rest of the island. The hotel is lavishly decorated throughout with numerous period-style pieces, including in its 15 guest rooms and suites, some of which also feature whirlpool tubs and garden-view balconies. In-room and property amenities are limited, with no full restaurant or fitness options. The free breakfast and secluded swimming pool, however, provide enough to make this a decent choice for those planning on spending most of their time exploring outside of the hotel. Travelers looking for a stay with more features can check out Petit Hotel Son Arnau, which has better views and in-room espresso machines.

Ponent Mar Aparthotel
Calle del Marques de la Torre 9

The upscale, family-run Ponent Mar certainly has a lot going for it, from its secluded and serene cliff-top setting to its attractive tiered pool terrace with panoramic sea views. Its 156 studio and one-bedrooms apartments are all modernized with kitchens and balconies -- many with excellent sea views -- though the lack of free in-room Wi-Fi is a disappointment. Indoor and outdoor pools, buffet and a la carte dining, and cycling tours led by former cyclist champion Stephen Roche are also highlights. Direct access to a small rocky cove is a real bonus, although the beach isn't ideal for swimming, and the hotel lacks a spa. Those after a pool with sea views and a bit more local buzz should check out the Intertur Hotel Hawaii Mallorca & Suites.
