Hotel Pinomar
Avenida Pins s/n
Mix Colombo
Calle Lluc 2

The Mix Colombo (formerly Catalonia Colombo) is a lower-middle-range hotel set on the south end of a sandy beach in the quiet resort of S'illot. Its 148 guest rooms are of the last century, as are the amenities, though some open to pleasant balconies with partial sea views. While there are a sea-view restaurant and two bars on-site, the quality of food is mediocre at best. The pool is also on the small side with just a few sunbeds, though the nearby beach makes this less of a problem. Rated are undeniably low, though you'll also find good deals -- plus better dining and an indoor pool -- at the beachfront Universal Hotel Perla.

Sun Club El Dorado
Ctra. Cabo Blanco, km 11, Cabo Regana

For travelers looking for sun and stunning views of the ocean at a value price, it's hard to beat the all-inclusive Sun Club Eldorado. A unique property in Mallorca, its isolation and elevation make it the perfect outpost for disconnecting from the world and being immersed in nature, sports, and the vividly hued sea. Lovers of creature comforts are better off looking elsewhere, as the rooms are in need of refurbishing, but for those willing to overlook crusty showerheads and raggedy drapes, the quirky, camp-like vibe of the Club and its abundant activities are worth taking advantage of. There's no real beach, though, and access to the water is down over 300 steep stairs; those who would prefer to be near a sandy beach might prefer the also affordable Hotel Don Pepe (it is adult-only and not all-inclusive, however).

Ohtels Campo de Gibraltar
Avenida Principe de Asturias s/n

The Ohtels Campo de Gibraltar is a three-pearl option a short drive from the historic center of Gibraltar, and five minutes’ walk from the center of La Linea de Conception. The hotel’s decor is pretty generic and bland throughout, but the 225 rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, kettles, and furnished balconies. Features include a sunny pool terrace, buffet restaurant, and pool bar that serves drinks and light meals. There is secure underground parking, but it comes at a cost, as do in-room Wi-Fi and safes. Guests looking to stay on the Rock itself might want to check out the Caleta Hotel.

Benabola Hotel & Apartments
Calle Benabola 3 Bajo

The mid-range Benabola Hotel & Apartments is in a scenic, central area of Puerto Banus overlooking the port and within a 10-minute walk of two beaches. The 96 rooms are mostly contemporary, and equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges, but only some offer balconies and kitchen facilities. Features at the hotel are limited -- there are no pool or gym, and Wi-Fi is limited to reception. Guests can, however, get massage and beauty treatments, or head to the rooftop bar for tapas and cocktails plus lovely views. With a mostly adult clientele and frequent party groups, this isn't ideal for families with young children. Travelers looking for a ton more on-site features should compare prices with nearby Melia Marbella Banus, which is also along the water.

La Moraleja Boutique Hotel
Avinguda Cavall Bernat S/N

La Moraleja is a four-pearl boutique hotel with an adult-only policy that offers lovely gardens, an elegant antique style, and choice views of Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains. It’s only a 10-minute walk to the beaches, making it close enough to enjoy the ocean, but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. Guests can take advantage of two pools, a spa, and two restaurants. The cooked-to-order breakfast is included in room rates. Apart from the updated Superior Double Rooms, the 22 rooms are generally homey in design and a bit dated. They do have fantastic amenities like minibars, kettles, and air-conditioning. Hotel Cala Sant Vincenc is a good alternative boutique hotel with modern rooms and amenities like free wine and bathrobes.

TUI SENSIMAR Don Pedro
Calle Cala Clara s/n

The three-and-a-half-pearl Hotel Sentido Don Pedro is an adults-only property that overlooks the sea in the small and laid-back resort of Cala San Vincent. The setting is a huge selling point, between two beaches and with superb panoramic views of the water and surrounding cliffs. Most of its 135 guest rooms feature spacious balconies with vistas, though some past guests complain of thin walls and hard beds. The hotel's pool is large enough for a decent swim, though it's prone to morning shade. An all-inclusive plan as standard offers decent buffet dining and an all-day bar. A second rooftop bar provides great evening views with cocktails, plus there's no shortage of on-site activities and entertainment. For a resort-style hotel, it certainly ticks most boxes, but for a more romantic boutique experience, consider the La Moraleja Hotel set a short stroll from the seafront.
