Invisa Hotel Club Cala Blanca
Playa de Es Figueral, San Carlos - Santa Eulalia

The 448-room Invisa Hotel Club Cala Blanca is a huge, garden-set resort property that does its three-pearl rating proud. While some spaces feel and look dated even after the updates and renovations, this is a well-kept, family-friendly spot where guests can grab a good balance of activity, relaxation, and quality time. Lower-category rooms come off more dated when compared to the Premium and higher category rooms, but you can expect AC and minibars, plus outdoor spaces in most. Standout features include a pirate-themed water park, kids' clubs, four pools, and beautiful sea views. The main buffet restaurant offers different meal plans. Guests have reciprocal access to the features at smaller sister property Cala Verde. Those looking to be closer to town, while still keeping a family vibe, should check rates at the Tropic Garden Aparthotel.

Hipotels Eurotel Punta Rotja & Spa
Avenida del Pinar S/N

The Hipotels Eurotel Punta Rotja is an upper-middle-range property set among the scented pine forests of the upmarket and largely residential neighborhood of Costa de los Pinos. The 203 rooms are smart and functional: They all have flat-screen TVs and open to long furnished balconies with either sea or mountain views (though some overlook scrub). Water-based facilities impress with a two-tiered outdoor pool, kids' pool, and two indoor pools, and the spa offers a dizzying array of treatments. Breakfast buffet costs extra and there's not much else in the area apart from Costa dels Pins shingle beach and golf course within walking distance. Those who want to be nearer the action, and the beach, should consider the Protur Alicia Hotel which also has an infinity pool with sea views.

Hotel Roc Illetas
Passeig Illetes 62

Roc Illetas is a relatively small, three-pearl hotel complex set into the cliff overlooking the sea, just a few minutes' walk from the pretty cove of the same name. While the local beaches can get busy, the area is peaceful and offers easy road access to Palma. Decor in the hotel's 124 guest rooms and apartments can be rather underwhelming and dated, but the superb sea views are quite the opposite. Features include a two-tier pool that overlooks the water, a heated indoor pool and whirlpool tub, and sun terraces with direct access to the sea. However, the terrace gets shade in the afternoon, some areas don't have enough loungers, and the hotel doesn't have a fitness center. There's no kids' club or animation program, either, so families might prefer the more kid-friendly Hotel BonSol Resort next door, which also has an outstanding spa.

BonSol Hotel Resort & Spa
Paseig de Les Illetes, 30

The 73-room Hotel BonSol Resort and Spa is a family-owned hotel on the coast of Mallorca that is decorated with the feel of a Spanish medieval castle. It stands out for a generous range of amenities -- fitness center, spa, beach volleyball, playground, kids' club, outdoor pools -- and attentive, personalized service. Rooms are homey and tastefully decorated, though the hotel's unique style shines most in the common areas -- from the lobby full of objects collected during the family's world travels to the elegant dining room. The hotel is steps away from a small beach and there is a peaceful outdoor restaurant. Guests looking for access to golf may want to consider the similarly rated Lindner Golf and Wellness Resort up the street.

SENTIDO Pula Suites Boutique Resort
Calle de Capdepera km 3

The Sentido Pula Suites Hotel Golf & Spa is an upscale, all-suite complex nestled at the foot of a hill in the picturesque Majorcan countryside. Its rustic, Mediterranean architecture certainly suits its rural surroundings, and while there's little within walking distance, golfers appreciate the neighboring 18-hole course; beaches are a short drive away. The buffet food is excellent and an extensive breakfast is always included in the room rate. Full spa facilities, a heated indoor pool, and a quiet outdoor pool mean ample relaxation options for adults. Overall, the complex lacks the polish of a true luxury hotel, which it markets itself as. The Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel is both luxurious and family-friendly.

Hotel La Laguna Spa & Golf
Calle Antonio Quesada 53, Urbanización Doña Pepa, Ciudad Quesada

Despite the name, the three-and-a-half-pearl Hotel La Laguna Spa and Golf does not have much to do with golf, aside from being a short driving distance to a few courses. However, the hotel does have a spa with a sauna and Turkish bath, hydrotherapy pools, and massage treatment rooms, as well as a well-equipped gym, nail and hair salon, and a lovely outdoor swimming pool with hot tub. All of the 95 rooms have a balcony, mini-fridges, and flat-screen TV. Travelers looking for a hotel that makes good on its promise of golf might want to try the Hotel Alicante Golf, located an hour's drive up the coast.

Servigroup La Zenia
Urbanizacion La Zenia

A one-minute walk from a secluded sandy cove, the mid-range Servigroup La Zenia offers an affordable, though dated, vacation in a quiet residential area. The hotel has an outdoor pool set in a sunny terrace with sea views, a kids’ club, and nightly live entertainment in the gaudy bar. Although the 220 rooms are sizable and come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and balconies, they're in need of a revamp and safes require a fee. Charges to access the gym and spa with indoor pool and sauna leaves guests feeling nickel-and-dimed. The buffet eatery receives high marks for variety and decent quality. It's worth comparing rates with Hotel Masa International, which is a bit more charming.

Chayofa Country Club
Calle Morro Chayofa 2

For a break in the sun that won't break the bank, the two-and-a-half-pearl Chayofa Country Club offers comfortable apartment-style digs, a short drive from Tenerife's beaches. Most of the 112 Studios and apartments are dated, but they're all large and come with well-equipped kitchens, living and dining areas, and balconies. More exclusive Villas have private pools and jetted bathtubs. A restaurant serves family-friendly meals, and a bar offers live entertainment. An on-site mini-market is also convenient for groceries and essentials. An outdoor pool and hot tub are inviting, and surrounded by loungers. Kn Columbus Aparthotel is nearer to beaches, although the all-inclusive buzz here isn't for everyone.

Regency Country Club
Calle Armiche 1

Regency Country Club is a 72-room boutique apartment-style hotel that provides an excellent (and quieter) alternative to some of the more family-oriented properties in Tenerife. Balinese carved doors and statues found across the common areas add lots of elegance, while guest rooms have similarly styled dark-wood furniture along with large, modern kitchens and furnished balconies. At the center of the hotel is a huge pool surrounded by statues and palm trees, a pavilion with a whirlpool, and a swim-up bar. There's also a French and Mediterranean restaurant, and meal plans are available. Travelers looking to stay closer to town may prefer Marylanza Suites & Spa.

Hotel Duque de Najera
Calle Gravina 2

The upper-middle-range, 92-room Hotel Duque de Najera is ideally situated next to the beach and in the city center of Rota, making it a great option for travelers looking to relax near the water and explore the shopping and dining options in town. It's arguably the top pick in this area, and the rooms are bright and spacious, with have balconies overlooking the beach or town. However, some guests have complained about the noise level in their rooms and some areas of the hotel could use a refurbishment.
