Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf and Spa Resort
Predio Paraiso Escondido

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is a beachfront mega-resort that offers almost every possible amenity. With six pools, five full restaurants, an elegant spa, extensive kids' facilities, and a dramatic cliffside location with Pacific Ocean views, the property is like a small town. Each of the 635 rooms is spacious and offers a kitchenette, flat-screen TVs, water-view balconies, and (optional) private hot tubs. However, the steep grounds can be difficult to navigate without constant golf cart transportation -- which is free -- and the beach is wide and beautiful, but isn't swimmable (a common problem in Cabo). Additionally, there are fees for Wi-Fi and the gym if not on an all-inclusive plan. The smaller, more intimate Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa offers most of the same amenities for less.

Solmar Resort
Av. Solmar #1, Col. Centro

As the oldest and most budget-friendly hotel in the Solmar Hotels & Resorts group, Solmar Resort All-Inclusive is a solid choice for travelers seeking affordable, beachfront lodging in Cabo San Lucas. The list of amenities is decent, including two pools, an alfresco restaurant with ocean views, a sushi bar, and beachfront spa cabanas. The 100 rooms are dated, but spacious and clean, featuring kitchenettes, flat-screen satellite TVs, and private, water-view balconies. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi costs extra, and the beach isn't swimmable here, though the latter is a common Cabo problem. Those wanting to be in the heart of Cabo San Lucas' action may want to consider the Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa, which has similar amenities on Cabo San Lucas’ lively marina for less.

Bahia Hotel & Beach House
Av. El Pescador s/n, Medano Beach

The 81-room Bahia Hotel isn't directly on the beach, but it's just a block away and makes a fine three-pearl pick near all of Cabo San Lucas' party hotspots. Although some rooms are a bit dated, many have a sharp look, with plenty of extra seating and modern amenities. Unfortunately there are fees for spotty Wi-Fi and restaurant noise can be an issue in some rooms. There's a nice coffee shop on-site, and the pool and hot tub stay bumping throughout the day. The star here is the hotel's trendy restaurant and bar, though, which serve excellent foodie plates and hand-crafted cocktails. For a hotel that's a bit quieter and has more authentic Mexican charm, check out The Bungalows Hotel, which is slightly cheaper, but lacks the destination dining.

Esperanza - Auberge Resorts Collection
Carr. Transpeninsular Km 7, Manzana 10, Punta Ballena

One of the smaller luxury properties in Los Cabos, Esperanza Resort packs plenty of luxury punch. With a dramatic cliffside setting, stunning ocean views are available almost everywhere, and the many terraces at the hotel's gourmet restaurant jutting out into the ocean. The 123 casitas and villas are rustic, bright, and refined, with romantic extras like bathrooms with side-by-side showers and separate soaking tubs. Balconies include plunge pools or hammocks, and pampering services include in-room check-in and personal concierges. The hotel has an elegant spa and large fitness center, and the main infinity pool is a stunner, though the beaches aren't swimmable. This is one of the more reasonably priced luxury properties in Los Cabos, and while the Resort at Pedregal is closer to San Lucas, rates will be higher.

Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa
Av. Pescador S/N, Colonia El Medano

Casa Dorado Los Cabos Resort and Spa has an enviable location situated directly on the white sands of swimmable Playa el Medano and within a five-minute walk to downtown Cabo San Lucas. All 188 rooms are spacious suites with kitchenettes, dining tables, and living areas. The four-pearl, family-friendly resort has two massive freeform pools, a hot tub, and a kiddy pool, making it ideal for both couples and families. With a host of drinking and dining options and private beach area, this lively hotel is an excellent choice in Cabo San Lucas. Enormous hammocks strung under cabanas and outdoor fire pits make for relaxing touches. For those looking for another family-friendly hotel with lower rates, try Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa -- but lose the beach access.

San Angel Suites
Calle Camino Del Cerro 215, Entrance to Pedregal

San Angel Suites is a small, mid-range property near the Cabo San Lucas marina that makes for a charming, economical stay for travelers who don't need a lot of features. There are only 12 suites, but all are spacious and tastefully decorated, with private furnished balconies, sitting areas, and kitchenettes. The hotel also features a lovely courtyard is full of greenery along with a large 12-person hot tub and barbecue facilities. However, there's no poll or on-site restaurant, as most guests self cater or take advantage of the many restaurants in the area. For an alternative with more amenities, consider the nearby Bungalows Breakfast Inn Hotel, which offers breakfast and has a pool (but is a bit far from the beach).

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort
Cabo Pacifica s/n

Situated on the outskirts of downtown Cabo San Lucas, the adult-only, all-inclusive Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf and Spa Resort is a tranquil four-and-a-half-pearl option that's considered one of the most romantic properties in Cabo. All five restaurants, four bars, 24-hour room service, and use of the modern fitness center are part of the all-inclusive package, though some menu items (like lobster) and top-shelf liquors will cost extra. Featuring garden and ocean views, all 201 rooms are elegantly decorated and include premium cable, free minibars (restocked daily), and coffeemakers. The ocean isn’t swimmable due to rough currents, but there are a small beach setup, two gorgeous outdoor pools, and free cabanas for guests in suites. Those traveling with kids should consider Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, a family-friendly and all-inclusive beachfront sister resort with pools, restaurants, and swimmable beach in downtown Cabo.

Hotel Quinta Del Sol
Boulevard Lazaro Cardenas S/N, Bordo. Col. Arenal

The Hotel Quinta Del Sol is a clean and functional budget motel that's a bit outside of the touristy core of Cabo San Lucas. It's a five-minute drive to the nightlife and action around the marina. All 72 studio-style rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and bottled water, plus extended-stay-style amenities, including dining areas and well-equipped kitchenettes. However, they are a bit worn. The hotel has a simple all-day restaurant that serves a free breakfast plus a freeform pool with hot tubs, and while these don't add up to much, it's more than most nearby budget hotels offer. As an alternative, the nearby Fairfield Inn Los Cabos provides modern, brand-name lodging with most of the same amenities for less.

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort
Playa El Medano

Situated on the white sands of Playa el Medano (the most swimmable beach in Cabo), the family-friendly Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos has an enviable location that's also within easy walking distance of downtown Cabo San Lucas. The three-pearl hotel offers both all-inclusive and room-only options, though the all-inclusive is the most popular and includes two on-site restaurants and bars, poolside service, and Wi-Fi. All 147 suites are decorated with traditional Mexican style and feature standard amenities like flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning. With a large freeform pool and private beach chair setup, expect to see families and couples on vacation. Adults looking for more quiet should consider the sister resort Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf and Spa Resort, though at a higher price tag.

Ventanas Hotel & Residences
Fraccionamiento Ventanas del Cortez S/N, Calle de la Tortuga s/n mza.1 Lte.15,1 Col. El Tezal

Ventanas Hotel and Residences occupies a secluded location in the hills above Cabo San Lucas. This family-friendly residential community is private and safe, offering spacious villas with modern kitchens and a private pool. These residences have more perks than nearby resorts, including washers and dryers, a private outdoor Jacuzzi, and peaceful rooftop seating with a fire pit and big barbecue area. There are also convenient extras such as garages with each unit, a fitness center, and a small cafe for snacks and deli items. While there are incredible views due to the hotel's elevation, as well as free Wi-Fi, some guests complain about barking dogs, and the isolated location means a rental car is necessary.
