Zion Lodge
1 Zion Ldg

Tucked beside towering sandstone cliffs, the three-pearl Zion Lodge is the only hotel inside of Zion National Park with direct access to hiking trails and on-site permitted parking. Wild turkeys and deer graze beside the restaurant’s and cafe’s patios. The 1920s-built cabins feature wooden pitched ceilings, stone fireplaces, and porches, but flat-screen TVs are only offered in Southwestern-themed hotel rooms and suites. Facilities are limited, but guests stay here for the outdoors activities and easy access to the free shuttles that run throughout the park. Overall, this hotel’s location is unbeatable and appeals to tourists looking for Utah's outdoor adventure experience. All guests must pay a mandatory park entrance fee.

The St. George's Club
6 Rose Hill Street, Over Looking The UNESCO World Heritage Town Of St George

The St. George’s Club is a 71-room mid-range property in the historic town of St. George’s. With large apartment-style units, three pools, a beach club, and two on-site restaurants, The St. George’s Club is an ideal spot for all types of travelers. During the summer months, the property abounds with families and children, while the quieter winter months attract couples and retirees. Rooms are spacious, and most have separate living rooms and kitchens, but decor throughout is dated. Though The St. George’s Club isn’t directly on the beach, it does have a private beach club with an oceanfront restaurant about 10 minutes from the hotel. The property is within walking distance of historic St. George’s town, but it’s far removed from most of Bermuda’s tourist attractions. Travelers looking for a similarly historic property might prefer The Fourways Inn, which is closer to Hamilton and the south shore, but doesn’t have as many amenities.

Red Mountain Resort
1275 Red Mountain Cir

The 106-room Red Mountain Resort is an upper-middle-range, all-inclusive adventure and wellness destination nestled amid southern Utah's red rock cliffs. The focus here is on healthy living, with a nutritious restaurant and a wide range of fitness classes, guided hikes, and day trips to national parks as well. The property has a full-service spa, hammocks, fire pits, pools, and hot tubs to help guests unwind. Rooms are simple and classic, and some provide red rock views, while one- and two-bedroom villas have fireplaces. Guests shouldn't expect much in the way of nighttime entertainment, aside from astronomy sessions, though St. George is only 15 minutes away by car.

Hyatt Centric Park City
3551 N Escala Ct

Hyatt Centric Park City is a 116-room upscale ski-in/ski-out property located next to Canyons Village and ski area in the Wasatch Mountains. The center of Park City is a 15-minute drive away. With the hotel's modern lodge feel and amenities like a ski valet and ski rentals, the hotel is a great option for families and groups on ski getaways. Rooms have stone fireplaces and kitchenettes, while suites offer full kitchens and views of the mountains. The restaurant serves upscale American fare and there's a market with prepared foods. Other features include a fitness center and an outdoor heated pool. The upscale ski-in/ski-out Westgate Park City Resort & Spa offers a full spa and Park City's largest indoor/outdoor pool, but less modern decor.

Bryce View Lodge
105 E Center Street

Unfussy and budget-friendly, the 164-room Bryce View Lodge is a popular property among tourists visiting the Bryce Canyon National Park, with a complimentary shuttle that stops on-site. Clean, stark rooms offer microwaves, mini-fridges, and tube TVs. Aside from picnic tables and a vending machine, this hotel doesn’t offer any facilities. But guests can make use of two restaurants, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a fitness center at the sister hotel, the Best Western Ruby’s Inn, which offers pricier rooms with more modern features.

Quality Inn & Suites Montclair
1516 Zion Park Blvd

The two-and-a-half-pearl Quality Inn & Suites Montclair is a motel-like property with gorgeous red rock formation views, just outside of Springdale's main drag. Its location is convenient for park goers, since Zion Canyon is a three-minute drive and Zion National Park is a five-minute drive away. The park's free shuttle stops right outside the hotel. It offers 36 clean and comfortable rooms, with amenities like mini-fridges, microwaves, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. The free buffet breakfast is large and offers a variety of hot options, though this is the only meal served on the property. During the summer season, there are an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. Note that the hotel closes from the end of November through February. La Quinta Inn & Suites at Zion Park / Springdale has similar rates with more central location and fitness center.

Historic Pioneer Lodge
838 Zion Park Blvd

A slightly older but renovated property, this lodge has the setup of a motel, but rustic touches reminiscent of a mountain cabin. As far as mid-range properties go, this one has 43 spacious rooms (but tiny bathrooms) with decent amenities including microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Suites are exceptionally large and perfect for the many families who stay here. Other on-site features add value, such as a free hot breakfast, laundry facilities, and an outdoor pool and hot tub area. However, the hotel’s fantastic location is a huge draw, just one minute on foot from downtown Springdale and offering stunning views of nearby Zion National Park, to which free shuttles are also available. For a newer property, La Quinta Inn & Suites at Zion Park/Springdale has similar rates and free breakfast.

Best Western Plus Cedar City
50 W 200 N

The mid-range BEST WESTERN PLUS Cedar City occupies a central location that's within walking distance of dining options, bars, and the yearly Utah Shakespeare Festival. The mid-range hotel offers a decent amount of amenities that add value, like a free hot breakfast and afternoon snacks, as well as a fitness room. There's also an outdoor pool that's open seasonally. Other facilities include a small snack shop, a meeting room, and a business center. Interiors are fairly bland and chain- like, but are well maintained and clean. Guest rooms provide a solid set of amenities, including microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. For an alternative, check out the BEST WESTERN Town & Country Inn, which has an indoor pool as well as jetted tubs in some rooms.

Hampton Inn Moab
488 N Main St

The Hampton Inn Moab offers modern facilities and a prime location in the heart of downtown Moab, just a short drive from Arches and Canyonlands national parks. The three-pearl property offers a nice set of features, including free hot breakfast buffet, nice fitness center, pool/whirlpool, guest laundry facilities, and free parking and Wi-Fi. Its 79 guest rooms are spacious and they have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers, but decor is drab and they lack microwaves. Suites add them, however and they also come with sleeper sofas and wet bars. Rates are competitive but like other area hotels they can spike quite high in peak season, when rooms can be hard to find. The nearby Comfort Suites is an attractive alternative with comparable amenities for about the same price, but the all-suites property has more contemporary units.

Grand America Hotel
555 South Main Street

This 775-room property is the most luxurious in Salt Lake City, and offers guests old-world charm on a grand scale. Its classic style is characterized by warm wood paneling, Italian marble accents, Venetian chandeliers, and wrought iron or white balustrade balconies that overlook well-groomed courtyards. Big rooms are traditional and sophisticated (if in need of some updating) and the decadent marble bathrooms are a highlight. The amenities live up to the standard set by the rest of the hotel: The fitness center is large and modern, the pools are lovely, and the spa is one of the best in the area.
