Fireside Resort
2780 N Moose Wilson Rd

The 23-cabin, upper-middle-range Fireside Resort is a rustic, romantic hotel in Wilson, Wyoming, with gorgeous Grand Teton views. The resort has an upscale boutique feel, but no common areas except for a spacious terrace with a hot tub. The location offers a private, luxury camping vibe and is a reasonable drive to downtown Jackson Hole and the many nearby skiing and hiking options. Each spotless, modern cabin has a fireplace, kitchen, separate bedroom and living room, and private furnished deck. Guests seeking more traditional rooms could check out The Sassy Moose Inn, a mid-range bed-and-breakfast with stunning Tetons views.

Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club
179 Carter Notch Rd

Built in 1879, the 96-room Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club is a mid-range historic property a short drive from Jackson, Story Land, and North Conway. Flower-printed fabrics, tufted chairs, and plaid accents lend a strong traditional character to the rooms, and though the look is dated many find it cozy. The property has a few solid amenities, including a golf course, an outdoor pool, and several dining options, but rooms are showing some wear and the fitness center is just a stationary bike and an empty room for stretching. Overall, it's a great value. The pricier Stonehurst Manor doesn’t have as many on-site amenities, but the atmosphere is similar and room rates include breakfast and dinner.

Motel 6 Jackson
600 S Hwy 89

The budget Motel 6 Jackson is a basic, no-frills hotel offering some of the lowest rates in the area. It’s only a five-minute drive into Jackson, but little is within walking distance. Its 155 guest rooms are well-maintained and they’ve been nicely decorated in a fun and colorful retro style. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and mini-fridges, but there are no kettles and Wi-Fi costs extra. Features are slim -- there's no breakfast or restaurant on-site -- but there's an outdoor pool and grassy courtyard with covered tables, free coffee in the lobby, and a guest laundry room. Like other Jackson properties, rates can spike quite high in peak season, when many hotels sell out. Travelers looking for a step up can consider mid-range Cowboy Village Resort, which has cozy log cabins with kitchenettes.

Ranch Inn
45 E Pearl Ave

The two-pearl Ranch Inn is a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers who don’t mind swapping more amenities for affordable rates and a convenient downtown location. The no-frills, motel-style property is located on a busy road that’s surrounded by shops and restaurants and just a three-minute walk from Jackson’s historic Town Square. Freebies include continental breakfast, parking, and Wi-Fi. The Ranch also has a laundry room and guest computer. Rooms are clean and comfortably sized, but they're dated and standard rooms don’t include coffeemakers, microwaves, or mini-fridges—Suites and premium Tower Rooms include them and also have balconies with good mountain views. It's worth comparing rates with the Antler Inn, another budget property downtown that has a huge whirlpool and free ski season shuttles but no breakfast.

Antler Inn
43 West Pearl Street

The two-pearl Antler Inn has been a budget favorite in a convenient location for over 50 years. It’s only a three-minute walk from Town Square, surrounded by local shops and gourmet restaurants that make Jackson a popular vacation destination -- but the ski slopes are at least a 20-minute drive. Hotel highlights include a huge indoor whirlpool, sauna, fitness center, laundry room, and free parking, ski life shuttles, and Wi-Fi. The 110 rooms include standard motel rooms and cute mini-cabins with cedar paneling. Both options are clean, with rustic decor, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers -- many have fireplaces, but bathrooms are drab and cramped. Many guests wish that breakfast was served. The 49’er Inn & Suites also is downtown and has more amenities including free hot breakfast -- but rates are higher.

Flying Saddle Resort
118878 Us-89

Guests are free to roam the Flying Saddle Resort's gorgeous seven acres, which include the Snake River and glorious views of the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the great outdoors are, the hotel's interior leaves something to be desired. Its 172 rooms, though clean and spacious, are extremely basic, with old tube TVs, outdated bedspreads, and blank, harsh white walls. Although facilities, such as the small fitness center and decent-size pool, are pretty basic, the hotel is clean and offers nice conveniences -- there is a liquor store and Steak & Seafood House restaurant on-site. About a 40-minute drive to Jackson Hole, the Flying Saddle Resort is a great place for visitors that aren't looking for much more than simple, cozy accommodations at a secluded spot in the Wyoming wilderness.

White Buffalo Club - Hotel
160 W Gill Ave

Originally built as condos, The White Buffalo Club has a luxurious, apartment-like feel; the restaurant is only open to guests and members, as are the large fitness center (complete with yoga studio) and the deck with mountain views. However, as a small property (there are only 17 rooms), the hotel often closes the restaurant early and there is no room service. All rooms have large flat-screen TV and washer/dryers, but the decor is bland and stark. The slate-and-granite bathrooms feel somewhat glamorous, though, and the soaking tubs are a nice touch considering there's no on-site Jacuzzi for post-ski soaking.

The Lodge at Jackson Hole
80 Scott Lane

The Lodge at Jackson Hole is an upscale mountain hotel situated under a five-minute drive from the town center. Tribute is paid to nature and Native American culture in the hotel’s decor, and it’s reflected in everything from the artwork to the color palette. The property has 154 contemporary guest rooms that are outfitted with an array of modern comforts like iHome docks, large plasma TVs, and Keurig coffeemakers with Starbucks coffee, plus some have cozy fireplaces. On-site features include a spa, as well as a restaurant, bar, and a lovely indoor/outdoor pool. Rates tend to be high, plus there's an obligatory resort fee that covers the free breakfast buffet, shuttle service, fitness center, Wi-Fi, and more. Travelers seeking something less expensive might want to consider the Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole, though it falls short on amenities by comparison.

Parkway Inn
125 N Jackson St, PO Box 494

The mid-range Parkway Inn is a homey boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Jackson Hole with an intimate, bed-and-breakfast vibe. Just a short walk from historic Town Square, the property is chock full of lovely antiques and charming details, and thoughtful touches like free afternoon cookies and lemonade in the lobby. Its 49 cozy guest rooms have rustic, Western-style decor, and all come with AC, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, terrycloth bathrobes, and free Wi-Fi. Suites have microwaves, wet bars, and sleeper sofas. Highlights include free breakfast, a fitness center with two saunas, and an indoor pool with two spacious whirlpools and a small, lap-style pool, but there's no full restaurant or bar. Travelers who want to spend a bit less for a similar stay can consider 49'er Inn & Suites.

The Wentworth
1 Carter Notch Rd, PO Box 812

The 61-room Wentworth is a charming historic boutique hotel centrally located in picturesque Jackson. Housed in several Queen Anne-style buildings, this upscale property offers a variety of room types, all decorated in cozy traditional inn decor, and many featuring outdoor hot tubs and working gas fireplaces. There is plenty to do on-site year-round, including swimming in the heated outdoor pool, working out in the well-equipped gym, or getting pampered at the spa. The restaurant serves an excellent farm-to-table menu and an outstanding free breakfast. The nearby Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club has similar amenities and lower rates, but The Wentworth has more charm and is in better shape.
