Andaz Maui At Wailea Resort
3550 Wailea Alanui Dr

Four-and-a-half pearl Andaz Maui at Wailea was built in 2013 and has been popular with the jet set since its opening. The combination of Mokapu Beach access, personalized attention at ‘Āwili Spa and Salon, and a multi-tiered infinity pool draws honeymooners and couples for Hawaiian-style romance. There's a Japanese restaurant and a farm-to-table style restaurant for breakfast. Artisan cocktails are the norm at two lounges. Minimalist rooms are built with the bathroom in the center and some balconies overlook the beach. There isn't a resort fee but valet parking and breakfast cost extra. Kids are welcome, though the hip scene and concept bathrooms may not be the best fit for families. Check rates next door at Four Seasons Maui which often has comparable prices and a slightly more luxe, yet family-friendly, vibe.

Wailea Beach Villas
3800 Wailea Alanui Drive

For families looking for a quiet, serene location on Wailea Beach, the Wailea Beach Villas are a good choice. Sharing the same stretch of Maui beach as some of the island's most luxurious hotels, the villa-style accommodations are ideal for larger groups and are available in two-and-three-bedroom configurations. Each villa features a full kitchen and laundry, plus a lanai (balcony or porch) and BBQ. The property has several of the features expected of a resort: several pools, beach chairs and umbrellas, cabanas, spa treatments, and a small fitness center. It lacks a restaurant and spa, though.

Grand Wailea
3850 Wailea Alanui Dr

Hands down the most amenity-packed resort on Maui, the upscale, beachfront Grand Wailea - A Waldorf Astoria Resort is a destination all its own. With 780 rooms, two massive pools, four restaurants, frequent fun luaus, and a 50,000-square-foot spa, the Grand Wailea wows with its immense scale. Rooms are beachy and modern, and well-equipped with furnished terraces, bathtubs, and separate showers. Numerous suite and villa options are available, and those in Napua Club rooms get extra perks. The property attracts all kinds of travelers, and guests can expect nonstop crowds at any time of year. While the resort is certainly upscale, it’s not as luxurious as its neighbors, the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and the Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui. Additionally, the hefty daily resort fees and fees for mandatory valet parking and kids' club access add to the already pricey nightly rates.

Wailea Ekolu Village Resort
10 Wailea Ekolu Pl

A mid-range condo complex overlooking the Wailea Blue Golf Course, Wailea Ekolu Village Resort attracts families and older couples looking for space to sprawl. The property’s 148 individually owned one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos feature full kitchens, open-concept living spaces, and in-unit laundry facilities, but decor is mostly dated and varies between units. There are two pools and multiple outdoor grilling areas scattered across the manicured grounds, but Wailea Ekolu Village is not within walking distance of the beach. Nearby Wailea Ekahi Village is directly on the sand, and offers similar accommodations with more amenities.
