Salybia Nature Resort & Spa
3/4 Mile Post, Toco Main Road 13

Tucked along a quiet road on Trinidad’s east coast, the small, two-and-a-half-pearl Salybia Nature Resort & Spa sits on a rocky beach with lovely Saline Bay views. While the 21 rooms are outdated, they all offer ocean view balconies, air-conditioning, and a good amount of space. Along with a clean pool, full-service spa, and a tropical-themed restaurant, the hotel ticks most of the expected boxes for a solid waterfront hotel. However, the rocky, unswimmable beach, uncomfortable beds, dated decor, and a general inattentiveness to detail overshadows many of the positives.

Crown Point Beach Hotel
Old Store Bay Rd

The highlight of the Crown Point Beach Hotel is its prime location on Store Bay Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Tobago. It also offers low rates, which appeals to many guests traveling to the area on a budget. The hotel does have a pool, restaurant, and tennis courts, but some areas of the hotel, such as the tennis courts, are in need of maintenance. All rooms feature small kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi.

Grafton Beach Resort
Stonehaven Bay

Situated along a well-traveled beach road in western Tobago, Grafton Beach Resort overlooks Stonehaven Bay -- a popular spot for nesting leatherback turtles each spring. On paper, it ticks many of the essential boxes for a two-and-a-half pearl waterfront getaway, including a lively beach bar, open-air restaurant, and a clean pool with swim-up bar. But an aging decor, mediocre food, and an often crowded public beach leave a lot to be desired. Each of the 78 rooms are spacious and dated, with mini-fridges, air-conditioning, and private balconies or terraces, some with ocean views. Travelers willing to part with a little more cash will be happier at Blue Haven Hotel, and intimate spot with ocean views and handsome rooms that's about 20 minutes away.
