This luxury beach resort is for adults only, and the vibe is young and hip — afternoons by the pool are lively, but not insane. Suites here are particularly sharp, including the Imperial Suite with its luxurious extras (private pool anyone?). Excellence Club upgrades will score you private lounge and restaurant areas, plus rooms that are even nicer. The Excellence all-inclusive plan is generous, and includes meals at 11 restaurants, top-shelf drinks, 24-hour room service, and activities like snorkeling. Extra charges apply at the full-service spa, but there are free personal training sessions at the gym.

Popular with couples in search of a quiet, romantic getaway, Zoetry Agua Punta Cana is easily one of Punta Cana’s most luxurious, chilled-out options. This tranquil all-inclusive boutique resort is set on a remote stretch of white-sand beach and features large suites with private balconies, many with views over the sea. The Zoetry Agua Punta Cana all-inclusive package covers everything from a la carte dining in four restaurants to top-shelf liquor. A wide range of activities are also included, like free yoga, horseback lessons, and even laundry service.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana is an attractive resort that attracts families and destination weddings with its lovely beachfront location, elegant suites, and abundance of activities for all ages. The highlight here is the long lagoon-style pool that runs the length of the resort. There's even a special lazy river reserved for guests of the adult-only Colonial Club section. With eight restaurants, a late-night snack bar, and 11 bars all covered in the all-inclusive rate, you'll never be without a chance to spoil yourself. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana prices also include twice-weekly foam parties and an outdoor kids' club.

Although the Sanctuary Cap Cana looks more like a Moorish fortress than a resort, this all-inclusive luxury property offers plenty for travelers looking for a relaxing, romantic vacation. It’s set right on the beach and completed renovations in 2018 that have added extra appeal. You'll find ocean views from many of the rooms; some also have swim-out pool access or even private plunge pools. Other property features include six pools and a spacious spa. All-inclusive rates cover a variety of restaurants, including Italian and pan-Asian options plus a steakhouse.

Paradisus Punta Cana Resort is a massive all-inclusive in a lovely garden setting that leads out to a prime stretch of white-sand beach. Although there are close to 700 rooms here, the resort rarely feels crowded, but it can be challenging to get around on foot, so many guests either get rides on golf carts or use loaner bikes. There’s a wide selection of amenities and activities, from cooking lessons and wine tasting to an opulent spa and a high-end fitness center. Paradisus Punta Cana restaurants are great, too, with a variety of buffets and a la carte options, most of which are covered by the all-inclusive rate.

The massive Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana is an all-inclusive mega-resort with all of the rock ’n’ roll-inspired features expected from the brand. The resort has just under 1,800 rooms, the fanciest of which has its own baby grand piano, but it’s the facilities — and there are a lot of them — that really stand out here. Along with a lovely stretch of white-sand beach, the Hard Rock has an 18-hole golf course, a gargantuan wellness center, 13 pools, 13 restaurants, 23 bars, and the largest casino in the Dominican Republic, complete with its own nightclub. Surprisingly, the Punta Cana Hard Rock is just as welcoming for families as adults looking for a party.

It should come as little surprise that Nickelodeon Punta Cana is popular with families: after all, this spacious, kid-focused all-inclusive resort is themed after the popular children’s cable channel. Activities here are clearly aimed at children and include a great water park and breakfast meet-and-greets with costumed characters. You'll find a few perks to keep parents happy, too, including a spa, beach, fully outfitted gym, and tennis courts. Dining options include a food truck, a pan-Asian option, an extensive buffet restaurant, and a Sicilian restaurant with its own homemade Limoncello on the menu. While Nickelodeon Punta Cana has no airport shuttle, it’s easy to arrange transfers from the Punta Cana International Airport, a 45-minute drive away.

Breathless Punta Cana offers a number of amenities and perks, including the Xhale Club and a casino, plus a lazy river, multiple pools, and a beautiful beach. Like all Breathless adults-only properties, the vibe skews lively. Themed pool parties are the norm here, and entrance to those is included along with food, drinks, and water sports. Breathless Punta Cana Xhale Club upgrades score extra snacks and in-room services, plus VIP sections along the beach and in most dining venues. While it's a big and popular resort, Breathless Punta Cana rarely feels crowded, since the 750 suites are spread far and wide across the property.

The upscale CHIC by Royalton Luxury Resorts is an elegant all-inclusive that’s both trendy and upscale. This adults-only property features lovely rooms with LED-light accents along with a great selection of facilities. There’s a huge pool with a swim-up bar, a white-sand beach with daybeds and a volleyball net. The generous all-inclusive package includes access to six restaurants and all of the tropical drinks that your heart desires. And while the energy here is lively, it’s a far cry from the spring break vibes found in more pocketbook-friendly options on the island.

Although the Excellence Punta Cana’s location can make it feel relatively secluded, there’s no shortage of things to do at this adults-only resort. The facilities at the Excellence are impressive, with multiple bars (including a swim-up option), two pools (one which runs almost the whole length of the property) and a two-story spa with a hydrotherapy circuit. The all-inclusive package may be the biggest selling point, with a wide selection of restaurants offering everything from tapas to lobster. Top-shelf liquor is included.

Situated within the gargantuan Melia Caribe Tropical, The Level at Melia Caribe Beach is a resort within a resort that offers an upscale alternative for families and couples alike. Rooms here are larger than in the rest of the Melia, and guests get an exclusive check-in area along with access to their own pool, beach, and restaurant areas. There are also separate adult-only and family-friendly sections, and guests receive access to all of the facilities at the main Melia Caribe Tropical.

One of the original TRS properties, TRS Turquesa is a solid all-inclusive option if you're looking for a spoil-me kind of vacation. This adults-only property is upbeat without being wild, and feels far more exclusive than the Grand Palladium properties nearby (though TRS Turquesa guests have access to all of the Grand Palladium amenities). The swim-up suites are a highlight here, as are the beautiful beach and great pool. CHIC Cabaret opened at TRS Turquesa in 2019, and resort guests receive free access to an amazing cabaret shows alongside a multi-course gourmet dinner during their stay.

Although The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real is a family-focused resort, with plenty of activities for little ones, the environment is serene and upscale. Highlights include a huge pool complex with kids' areas and slides, a Kids' Zone featuring a rock climbing wall and a trampoline, and babysitting services. There’s also a lovely spa with a fitness center and yoga classes, and guests get access to all of the facilities at the sister property next door — the Paradisus Palma Real — including a lovely white-sand beach.

The standout feature at Grand Memories Splash is its waterpark, allegedly the largest in the Caribbean, but this all-inclusive resort offers plenty more than just slides and wave pools. Rooms are upscale, with marble floors and free minibars — many come with whirlpool hot tubs. There are also separate kids' and teens' clubs, a huge range of bars and all-inclusive restaurants, and even resident peacocks that roam the property. Guests also receive access to some of the features at the next-door Royalton Punta Cana. Travelers looking for a total splurge might opt for the Diamond Club program, which comes with exclusive perks, such as access to a private beach area.

Attached to Memories Splash next door, the Royalton Punta Cana is best for travelers without kids, as it features a casino, adults-only pool, and buildings where kids aren't allowed. Rooms here are attractive and spacious, and Diamond Club units have swim-out pool access. The main pool has great sea views as well as a swim-up bar, though it's hard to overlook the pretty stretch of beach as well. Nightly shows are a lively affair. Premium liquor is available throughout the resort, but Diamond Club upgrades will score you additional perks like butlers and more high-end amenities.
