For those who cherish the comforts of home, the Villas apartments, which range from one- to three-bedroom units, are spacious and fully stocked, right down to the laundry detergent and coffee. The sprawling outdoor pool area comes replete with an expansive mini golf course, a communal barbecue area, and a pizzeria/deli. Factor in that Disney World, Universal Studios, and Orlando’s other major fun parks are a short drive away, and the Villas can become an all-around great choice for families and large groups.
Scene
A neighborhood condo feel
The Villas have the feel of a community, set up like spacious apartments in a nice suburb. But the lobby’s coffee lounge and game room, the sprawling grounds with two large pools, a kids' pool, a pair of hot tubs, and a huge mini golf course all conjure up resort living. Everything about the Villas is large, spacious, and comfortable. They have the unmistakable feel of a home away from home.
Location
Nestled into resort row, surrounded by attractions
Tucked into the same square mile as several other resorts serving Sea World, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and a handful of golf courses, the Villas are far enough removed from the highway to spare guests the road-stop feel, yet all the major sights are within a 15-minute drive.
Rooms
Full-blown, fully equipped apartments
Each of the units comes with a full kitchen, stocked with silverware, dishes, pots and pans, even coffee and laundry detergent in some. While many units have been updated with marble showers and shiny, new wooden cabinets, others date back to the 1970s with older furniture and upholstery -- those are reportedly slated for a remodel in 2014. But each unit is clean and has a balcony, air-conditioning, at least one king-size bed, and a lot more space than the average hotel room. Wi-Fi access is included in the daily resort fee.
Features
All the comforts of home with resort bonuses
In addition to having all the equipment guests would need to cook a big family meal, and enough space for a game of Twister in the living room, the Villas also come with an enormous pool area that includes two pools, hot tubs and kids' pool, a mini golf course, barbecue, convenience store and deli, concierge services, and resort treats such as massages and spa treatments, and a pottery-painting studio.
