The property has numerous bars and restaurants and guests can also dine at the restaurants at the Ritz. Other features include multiple swimming pools, tennis courts, a spa, a fitness center, and direct access to a sandy beach.

Scene
Quiet, expansive, beachside property
Although the Kapalua Villas attracts plenty of families with kids, the activities and accommodations here are aimed more at adult leisure travelers. The ambience at this huge hotel is quiet and clean, and there are gorgeous sea and golf course views from various points throughout the property. The lobby is small and casual, with low ceilings and light wood decor, as well as a small gift shop off to one side of the concierge desk. The hotel's exteriors are considerably more impressive, with immaculately landscaped grounds full of flowers and palms, and paths that weave throughout the property and down to the beach.
Location
In a remote coastal area with little else in the surrounding area besides other hotels
The Kapalua Villas are located in a remote coastal area in northern Maui, on a road shared with other hotels and resorts. There's little in terms of commerce in the area, but the hotel is a 20-minute drive from Lahaina, which has lots of shops and restaurants. Kahului Airport takes about an hour to reach by car.
Rooms
Villas with kitchens and washer/dryers
The Kapalua Villas has a total of 165 one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas, many of which come with sweeping ocean views. Each has a private lanai, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine and dryer, and Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have walk-in showers or shower/tub combos and wall-mounted hair dryers. Although interiors vary by villa type, the living areas and bathrooms in many of the rooms have dated decor with island-themed upholstery.
Features
Extensive dining options, a spa, pools, ziplining, two excellent golf courses, and direct beach access
The Kapalua has four restaurants serving seafood, sushi, Hawaiian cuisine, and comfort food, as well as a bar and a cafe. Additional dining options are located in the adjacent Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua and are open to guests of the Villas. Those who prefer to self-cater can pick up basics at the Honolua Store or drive 20 minutes into town for larger supermarkets. The Kapalua is also home to a huge spa with a fitness center, a couple of tennis courts, and a zipline course, though the main attractions for many visitors are the two golf courses that sit adjacent to the villas: the Plantation Course and the Bay Course. Although the property has swimming pools, the property's beachside location means guests can swim directly in the ocean.
