This no-frills lakefront property is a remodeled motel located in a quiet part of already sleepy Marco Island. It has 12 one- and two-bedroom suites, and seven studios, all with full kitchens (most with dishwashers), simple, beach-y decor (lots of white and wicker), and comfy beds. After renovations in 2011, all units now have flat-screen TVs, DVD players, free Wi-Fi, new tile floors, and Ralph Lauren sheets. There is a decent-size pool with a nice, shaded barbecue area, lounge chairs along the small lake, and an average restaurant on-site. All in all, it's a perfectly adequate pick for low-key couples who don't mind being a five-minute drive from the beach.

Location
In the heart of residential Marco Island, right by the Island Country Club and close to a few restaurants
The Marco Island Lakeside Inn is located in the heart of the island, in a residential area just west of the Island Golf and Country Club. There’s nothing within walking distance, but the beach (the only main attraction on Marco Island) is a five-minute drive away, and there are many restaurants north of the property. There’s a tiny lake behind the hotel, where the management has placed a few lounge chairs, but it’s not too attractive, and the water is not really inviting (though it is a nice spot to relax and get some sun).Marco Island is a quiet residential area 17 miles south of Naples, Florida, that attracts a well-heeled crowd. There are few attractions to speak of, and no nightlife whatsoever, but it's a good fit for those looking for a peaceful vacation. There are several restaurants on North Collier Boulevard and a bunch of shopping malls, but that’s pretty much all there is to do here. A few years ago, the opening of a comedy club on South Collier Boulevard brought some life to the otherwise quiet nights here, but there are just a few bars and pubs where visitors can get a drink after dinner.- 1-hour-10-minute drive to the Southwest Florida International Airport
