Scene

A historic Beaux Arts building with quirky modern decor

The Hotel Monaco is housed in a beautiful historic Beaux Arts building that was once the former B&O Railroad headquarters -- and there are plenty of preserved historic details that allude to this past. Among them: Tiffany stained glass windows, a dramatic marble staircase, and crystal chandeliers. But this grandeur is contrasted against the quirky, modern style that is typical of many Kimpton properties; surprisingly, the mix of modern and historic blends seamlessly. The hotel also offers the Kimpton freebies that make the boutique hotel experience more personalized, including a free wine and cheese hour, free bike loans, and free in-room yoga mats.
