Breezes Resort & Spa Bahamas - All-Inclusive
Breezes Lane

Breezes Resort & Spa Bahamas is a three-pearl resort located on Cable Beach. The resort’s 391 guest rooms are big and bright, although decor is a bit bland and dated. The hotel has three appealing pools, five restaurants, a fantastic beach, as well as more unusual features such as a trapeze and a rock-climbing wall. Add to that a full schedule of land and water activities, along with four bars where the party often continues late into the night, and there’s more than enough here to keep guests entertained. For those who like all-inclusive resorts, it’s among the best value options on the island -- but it gets plenty of spring breakers in season. Kids under 14 are not allowed, so travelers seeking a more family-friendly option might want to check out Melia Nassau Beach Resort.

Sandyport Beach Resort
Sandyport Drive

Sandyport Beach Resort is a three-and-a-half-pearl hotel located in the pretty community of Sandyport Marina Village. Rooms are cozy and the features are excellent for this price range. The hotel’s 72 guest rooms are neat and inviting, they're decorated with locally made linens and artwork. Many offer kitchenettes or kitchens as well as hot tubs and separate sitting areas. This resort has a number of stand-out features, including direct access to Cable Beach, its own private lagoon beach, Blue Sail (a buzz-worthy restaurant), and a fun pool bar. It’s worth comparing rates with nearby Compass Point Beach Resort, which also has beach access and free breakfast.

British Colonial Hilton Nassau
One Bay Street

The 288-room British Colonial Hilton is a historic Downtown landmark offering all of the features (and add-on fees) you’d expect from an upscale establishment. Set on 300 feet of private harborside beach, the hotel neighbors Nassau’s main touristy strip, and it's walking distance to the Nassau Bahamas Cruise Terminal. Highlights include its beachfront setting, freshwater pool, lush, tropical grounds, superb business amenities, 24-hour fitness center, water sports, elegant function rooms, and choice of on-site restaurants and bars. Modern rooms are generic, but well-equipped with flat-screen TVs, work desks, and huge marble bathrooms (with premium toiletries). This Hilton is a good option for cruise passenger stopovers, corporate travelers, and those seeking a central, full-service hotel that's less “resort-y” than others. Travelers seeking a more resort-like vibe could check out Atlantis.

Rosewood Baha Mar
One Baha Mar Boulevard

Part of a trio of luxury hotels comprising the immense Baha Mar resort, the Rosewood Baha Mar is the most luxurious (and expensive) option of the three. British Colonial architecture combines beach cottage interiors and Bahamian touches, plus the 237 spacious rooms are decked out with conveniences like 55-inch flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, and butler service. Two restaurants serve tasty fare and one of the most inviting spaces is The Library, a stylish guest favorite that offers Champagnes, afternoon tea, and caviar. Guests have access to all features across the Baha Mar resort, including an array of restaurants, a golf course, casino, kids' club, and expansive spa and fitness facilities, plus the Rosewood has its own private spa, pools, and gym. Families with kids might prefer the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, and its expansive pool complexes.

Warwick Paradise Island Bahamas - All Inclusive
Harbour Drive

Overlooking Nassau Harbor on Paradise Island, Warwick Paradise Island is an upscale adults-only resort with 250 rooms and suites. All rooms come with solid amenities and many have balconies with views out over the harbor. The white sand beach at Warwick Paradise Island features a small, enclosed swimming area, lounge chairs, and free snorkeling equipment. There's also a huge lagoon pool with plenty of lounge chairs to go around. The all-inclusive package includes tips and covers a wide variety of a la carte and buffet restaurants offering everything from pan-Asian fare to pizza. Wellness facilities are also extensive, with a gym, tennis, basketball, and the lovely Amber Spa. Overall, it's a good value for the area, but guests with kids under 16 will need to look elsewhere, such as the nearby Reef at Atlantis.

Grand Hyatt Baha Mar
One Baha Mar Boulevard, Cable Beach

Sitting right on the crystal waters of Cable Beach, the massive Grand Hyatt Baha Mar overwhelms with features and has a luxury Vegas meets the Caribbean feel. The 1,800-room property has six attractive pools, the Caribbean's largest casino, impressive spa and fitness facilities, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course, nine tennis courts, and several luxury shops. A myriad of dining options range from haute Chinese cuisine and a seafood restaurant to food trucks with Mexican fare and gourmet hot dogs. Families are catered to with a kids' club, plus opportunities to see wildlife from sea turtles and sharks at The Sanctuary to flamingos at the aviary. Rooms are chic and spacious, decked out with mod-cons and attractive bathrooms, plus there are multi-bedroom villas and residences available. For something more intimate and even more luxurious, check out the neighboring Rosewood Baha Mar

The Coral at Atlantis
1 Casino Drive

With 600-plus rooms, the comfortable Coral Towers (formerly the Brittania Beach Hotel) is a section of Atlantis that appeals to mid-range travelers -- mostly families. It's cheaper than the Royal Tower but closer to the action (and crowds) than the budget-friendly Beach Tower. Though decor and amenities are similar to the Beach Tower, Coral offers larger room options, such as the Regal Suite, which has two full bathrooms. It sits next to the harbor (some rear-facing balconies have views of it), and offers easy access to Marina Village for more choice in restaurants, shops and after-dinner strolls among the yachts. In the front is the Paradise Lagoon for non-motorized water sports (for a fee). Expect to pay a hefty fee for just about everything, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for many.

The Royal at Atlantis
1 Casino Drive

When most people think of Atlantis, they immediately envision Royal Towers -- the massive, pink, now-iconic structure that opened in 1998 and houses over 1,000 spacious rooms. It sits along a near-perfect (if it weren't for the vendors) stretch of beach in Paradise Island. Atlantis has six separate sections, and Royal Towers is the mega-resort nerve center; guests staying here will find themselves within easy walking distance of the best pools, a luxury spa and fitness center, the 141-acre Aquaventure for incredible waterslides and river rides, and activities at Dolphin Cay. Other notable features of the complex include the largest outdoor marine habitat in the world, a hopping casino, and a total of 19 bars and 21 restaurants -- all with a hefty price tag, though half-board dining plans are available (all-inclusive packages are not). Contemporary rooms are larger (and pricier) than rooms at the Beach and Coral Towers, but most have French balconies with standing room only. Be aware that there are hefty daily resort fees and many day visitors from cruise ships.

The Reef at Atlantis
1 Casino Drive, N-3728

This modern, luxurious condo-hotel with nearly 500 residential-style units is located on the far edge of the enormous Atlantis complex in the Bahamas. The big studios and one- and two-bedroom suites (many with views) are well-suited to families, and have pullout sofas and fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes. It's one of the priciest Atlantis options (though not quite as expensive as Cove), but families will likely appreciate being able to cook to save money, as Atlantis' 19 bars and 21 restaurants are notoriously expensive. The property has a nice stretch of beach and a large family pool that is exclusive to Reef and Cove guests, and major Atlantis highlights such as Aquaventure are within walking distance. A Starbucks and a convenience store are available in the lobby, or guests can walk or take a shuttle to the resort hub for more selection.

Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino
3JHG+49R, West Bay Street

The enormous, 415-room Wyndham Nassau is an aging property with cigarette-scented guest rooms. Its main attractions include a mediocre stretch of Cable Beach, a great pool, some pricey (but excellent) restaurants, and the sluggish Crystal Palace Casino.
